Original shape inspired by Ninteenth Century cups at the Adrien Dubouché National Museum, Limoges. Delicate border pattern on the inside. Handle with gold, and rim of cup edged with a fine line of gold painted by hand.
On an open steppe white with snow, amid a finely woven pattern of crimson and gold, and intense blue…horses gallop. Free of riders; appear alone or in joyful herds. Bays, chestnuts or dappled, unadorned or clothed in leather or richly ornamented cloaks, like fluttering Persian carpets. On every piece of porcelain the golden frame of Persian miniatures has been translated into a precious thread of fine gold. |
