Mosaïque au 24 is an homage to Hermès’ historic birthplace, n° 24 Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris. The pattern was inspired by distinctive elements of Henry Pannier’s 1926 store design, notably the sandstone mosaic floor with its « Greek style » frieze. It is a subtle blend of Art Deco, Classical Greek and Contemporary with a healthy zest of 1930’s Jazz and elegance. In keeping with classical mosaic tradition, gold details are used to subtly illuminate the decor. The original colors (ochre and grey) are highlighted with shiny gold cabochons.
